The hCG diet was discovered by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons. Dr. Simeons was born in London and graduated in medicine at
the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He completed post-graduate work in both Germany and Switzerland.Soon, he became consumed in the study of
tropical diseases, which caused him to join the School of Tropical Medicine in
Hamburg, Germany.
In
1954, he published his first report of HCG findings. Among the
observations in his report, he noted obese patients on a low-calorie diet
didn’t show the same symptoms such as headaches, hunger pains, weakness and
irritability, if the diet was coupled with hCG, compared to others on a
low-calorie diet.
This study was influenced by
observations he made in India, where pregnant women and obese men (with
pituitary issues) both had deficient calorie intake. The obese men were
given low doses of hCG, and Dr. Simeons observed that both the men and women
lost fat tissue rather than muscle tissue. Dr. Simeons speculated that
hCG played a role in reprogramming the hypothalamus, which is a portion of the
brain that directly communicates with the pituitary gland.
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by
women during pregnancy. Dr. Simeons’ observations of its benefits for
weight-loss have been implemented in the hCG diet, which consists of a very low
calorie intake regimen combined with an oral or injected dose of hCG. If
the diet protocol is followed, the dieter will lose unwanted fat tissue and be
able to keep it off.
The first two days of the hCG diet are spent eating fatty foods, coupled with
the hCG to ensure that normal fat cells are filled to capacity. These
first two days are termed “loading days” and are essential for success on the
diet. On the third day, the restricted 500-calorie regimen is adopted,
while continuing hCG. The duration of the diet can vary
anywhere from 28-32 days depending on the amount of weight one wishes to
lose. During this time, one is on the low calorie diet coupled with hCG.
By choosing the hCG diet, you will not only lose weight
quickly, but you will also reset your metabolism to be what it should be.Additionally, instead of losing valuable
muscle tissue, your body will be burning the fat that has accumulated in your
body.Good fat stores are not burned,
but rather, the fat stores that are particularly harmful, such as the fat
around the midsection.By doing so, you
will lower your risk of heart disease as well as other very serious
complications that come from having high body fat.
Here are some thoughts that Dr. Oz has about fat, particularly
belly fat:
This video is being used solely for the illustration of how detrimental belly fat can be. Dr. Oz is not associated with Northern Utah hCG, nor is he endorsing the hCG diet in this video.
